Homegrown Lessons We Learned Through 2020

A wakening of some sort- this is what 2020 taught us all this year.  For many of us, this has been an incredibly challenging, transformative, and life-changing year. In some ways, life went on as usual—we were still expected to show up at work, babies were born, Lady Gaga put out an album. But in other ways, it was like no other year we’ve experienced in our lifetimes. This year led to the rise of many Davao online shops and Davao online grocery and delivery just like the Malagos Homegrown Produce.

We started at a time of uncertainty and doubt, months after, we are grateful that we are still here, pushing through the waves. To start the year right, we are sharing with you key lessons we’ve learned from the toughest year yet.

Importance of Homegrown and Online Shops. Small businesses like the Malagos Homegrown Produce are the ones that wear our dreams on our sleeves. The shop budded due to the need to help our local farmers shift to an online platform. This led  to the understanding that the support local movement is a collective effort of everyone that can resonate and change peoples lives. Small homegrown and online shops like the Malagos Homegrown Produce tends to help the community better too. With its roots all intertwined with other local businesses, it is a matter of connecting and reconnecting with everyone in the City. With fresh, homegrown produce within our reach, a better future lies ahead.

A better understanding of  humanity. This situation has shown us that we are all the same regardless of our religion, culture, customs, whether we are poor or rich. The virus simply does not choose. It connected us in a way, it showed us that we should all stick together. During this chaos, while many of us were in a panic, it showed us the weight of humanity. It reminded us who we are. The pandemic also made way for most of us to rediscover bayanihan. It was a reminder that we humans are fragile by ourselves. Our strength lies in being a part of a community.

We need to slow down. We live in a world that is “go go go.” We are constantly under pressure to be productive, to compete and be better than our peers or ourselves, and to never take breaks. While this has resulted in many having successful careers, this isn’t sustainable. We are burning out, we are getting tired, and we are hiding our depression. In essence, we have lost our work-life balance. We need to get it back and start living our best lives. This is what the work from home arrangement has done to most of us, in the midst of it all, we have to make peace with balance when it comes to this.
